The story is told by two narrators—the God and the Man—speaking in the first person, their voices running in parallel through similar lines across different moments in time.

On the left-hand pages, the God resides in a small shrine beneath a tree, set in the middle of fields and a village. The shrine is surrounded by a space where residents gather, talk, play, and rest. With the God’s quiet presence, people live their days—ordinary, yet filled with subtle changes.

On the right-hand pages, the Man lives in a small house, close to a densely built village. From gaining knowledge and support, to accumulating wealth and military power, he gradually rises—step by step—until he governs with weapons and becomes an authoritarian ruler.
